Prepayment

For certain bookings we ask you to pay an amount in advance. This amount is a partial payment of your definitive trip costs, which are calculated at the end of your booking. We require you to pay in advance for several reasons:

  • When you are asked for a payment in advance, then only this payment will confirm your booking. It allows for the car to be available for you at the designated time and location. In turn, it helps us to manage our fleet efficiently.
  • Paying in advance allows us to hold the amount and ensure we have funds in place if financial problems arise. As Greenwheels is a car for everyone, we want to encourage responsible car usage.
  • Paying in advance demonstrates your commitment to the trip and reduces the likelihood of no-shows or cancellations. It also means that the car isn’t being held by people who aren’t sure they want to use it. In other words, prepayment is your “I do” to the shared car.

How we process your payment

We deduct the prepaid amount from your final trip costs. This is calculated on the invoice that also lists the booking for which the prepayment was needed. If you cancel the booking (on time), the prepayment will be refunded via and/or settled with your next invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I pay for Greenwheels? (Payment options)

We have two payment methods: direct debit or credit card. Only when you can’t pay your outstanding invoice via iDEAL, it also will be possible to pay via bank transfer.

We only offer iDEAL as a payment method for the deposit, prepayment or overdue invoices.

Please note: Greenwheels only accepts credit card by Mastercard and Visa. We do not accept debit cards or prepaid credit cards.

Where and how can I view my invoices?

If you’re the main driver for your account, you can view your invoices by going to the ‘Invoices’ page in your profile. In the app, go to ‘Settings’ first. You can download invoices to keep your own records. If you don’t see this option, you’re not the contract driver for the account. To view an invoice, ask the contract driver. We also e-mail invoices to the contract driver’s e-mail address, provided this address is known to us.
